The holocaust was a time when six million Jews were executed and murdered by the Nazi regime. When Adolf Hitler became chancellor in 1933, the German government began passing laws to remove the rights of Jews as citizens. Jews were forced to live places called the "ghetto" and from there were later deported to labor camps and death camps. After other countries were exposed to Hitler's brutality, WWll began to put an end to the inequality. Camps started to close between 1944-1945, but the Holocaust officially came to an end when the war was over on May 8, 1945. Many lives were changed for the worse but this tragedy also helped bring nations together. Some historic events from this time period include Kristallnacht, St. Louis Affair, Nuremberg Laws, Death Marches, Concentration Camps, and the Final Solution.
